Context
The ANRS MIE partner site in Cameroon works in the field of human health research and the coordination of actions related to emerging infectious diseases in close collaboration with sectoral ministries, public institutions, and national and international technical and financial partners.
To carry out our activities, we have a qualified and competent staff, and we wish to expand our team by recruiting an Accountant.
2. Main Tasks
Under the authority of the coordinators and their direct supervisor, the Accountant will be responsible for the following main tasks and responsibilities:
Maintaining up-to-date accounting records;
Preparing monthly bank reconciliations;
Ensuring compliance with donors’ financial and accounting procedures; Preparing project financial reports;
Managing accounting documents (filing, physical and digital archiving);
Preparing for and supporting internal and external audits, responding to requests for financial clarification from donors and partners;
  Implementing audit recommendations;
  Contributing to capacity building for project staff.
3. Required Profile
Education
: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting or finance.
Additional training in project management would be an asset.
Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in accounting and finance;
proven experience in the financial management of research projects funded by international donors.
Experience in an NGO, research institute, or public health project is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
  Mastery of accounting and financial principles;
         mastery of the SYCEBNL (French National Register of Non-Profit Organizations) and the taxation applicable to non-profit organizations;
good knowledge of project management procedures;
proficiency in computer tools (advanced Excel, accounting software);

ability to produce clear financial reports that comply with donor requirements.
Soft Skills
: Rigor, organization, and attention to detail;
integrity and respect for confidentiality;
ability to work in a multidisciplinary team; autonomy and a sense of responsibility.
Language
French and English
4. File composition
• A cover letter addressed to the Southern Coordinator;
A curriculum vitae highlighting three professional references; copies of the candidate’s main diplomas and certificates;
a criminal record extract dated less than three months prior;
a medical certificate signed by a physician practicing in a public hospital.

The deadline for submitting applications is February 26, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE
The recruitment process will consist of three stages.
The first stage will consist of an initial screening of applications based on qualification and aptitude criteria.
Shortlisted candidates will then undergo a practical computer skills test and a correspondence writing test.
Following the second stage, the three best candidates will be invited for an interview.
