1- CONTEXT AND JUSTIFICATION
The Union of Mutual Financial Development Cooperatives (MUFID UNION COOP-CA) is
the umbrella organization for a network of 120 MUFIDs and service points located in the ten regions of
Cameroon. Created on October 30, 2019, during the Constituent General Assembly held at the
Yaoundé Conference Center, MUFID UNION was approved by the Monetary Authority of Cameroon on
April 22, 2020, following a favorable opinion from the Banking Commission of Central Africa (COBAC).
In accordance with COBAC regulations, MUFID UNION provides technical and
financial assistance to its affiliated MUFIDs, which are themselves approved by the Monetary Authority after receiving a
favorable opinion from COBAC. The first MUFID branch in the network opened its doors in 1992.
2- AMBITIONS
A major player in microfinance in Cameroon, the MUFID network aims to become:
– The leader in agricultural and rural financing in Cameroon;
– A key player in the financial inclusion of the population, the financing of
micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and local development.
To achieve these ambitions, and as part of strengthening the team at its
Yaoundé branch, MUFID UNION is seeking a competent and experienced Cashier.
3- RESPONSIBILITIES
The Cashier is responsible for welcoming MUFID UNION members and clients, processing
transactions (deposits, withdrawals, payments), and ensuring the accuracy of the cash register at the beginning and end
of the day. She also contributes to the promotion of products and services and ensures strict


adherence to current security and compliance procedures.

Reception and Customer Service
• Greet members and clients courteously and professionally;
• Answer their questions and provide them with accurate information on the products and services offered
in the branch;
• Inform members of new products and services available;
• Handle member and customer complaints and claims professionally, quickly, and
efficiently;
• Participate in prospecting and developing MUFID’s credit portfolio through the
recruitment of new members.
Transaction Management
• Monitor transfer operations (Mobile Money, Orange Money, Wafacash, MoneyGram,
etc.) and reconcile the corresponding product inventory;

• Apply security procedures to protect
members’ funds and confidential information; • Strictly adhere to financial regulations and MUFID Union
‘s internal policies ; • Use detection devices to identify any counterfeit bills presented by users; • Perform all necessary checks before any payment (identity document, signature, account number, etc.); • Identify and report any suspicious or unreliable payment requests; • Ensure compliance with the payment threshold required by the insurance company; • Identify and reject any power of attorney that does not comply with internal procedures or Board of Directors decisions. Administrative Support.

• Participate in administrative tasks such as filing and managing financial documents
; • Contribute to the production of activity reports and periodic financial statements;
• Participate in the preparation of periodic documents for the General Management;
• Prepare the monthly cash report;
• Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
5- QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:
• Baccalaureate G2 or Baccalaureate + 2 in Banking, Finance & Accounting or a related field;
• Fluency in French and English is an asset;
6- EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
: • At least two (2) years of professional experience in a similar position in a
microfinance institution or bank;
• Excellent command of cash management;
• Ability to prepare a bank reconciliation statement;
• Mastery of cash opening and closing procedures within a
microfinance institution;
• Good knowledge of customer service and reception;
• Possess a good knowledge of the microfinance sector and a mastery of
prudential regulations and standards, particularly those applicable in the CEMAC zone;
• Possess a good knowledge of savings, credit, and risk analysis activities;
• Mastery of microfinance products and services, particularly those of the
MUFID network;
• Mastery of computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) as well as
banking management software (CoreBanking is an asset);
• Be able to contribute to the development of MUFID through ongoing
member awareness-raising and demonstrate proven commercial negotiation skills .
6- PERSONAL QUALITIES
