As part of strengthening its operational capacities and supporting the ramp-up of its infrastructure, particularly with the gradual commissioning of Phase II of the deep-water port, the Autonomous Port of Kribi plans to increase its maritime pilotage staff.
To this end, the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Kribi is launching a call for applications for the recruitment of three (03) highly qualified pilots for the current fiscal year, in order to guarantee the safety of maneuvers, the smooth flow of maritime traffic, and the quality of service provided to port users.

1. Eligibility Requirements
Seafarers meeting the following conditions may apply:
be of Cameroonian nationality;
hold a Master Mariner’s Certificate (CLC), First Class Master Mariner, or equivalent;
have completed the training recommended by IMO Resolution A.960;
Candidates must have at least 72 months of active sea service, including 48 months as a Deck Officer, with experience as at least a First Mate on board merchant ships of a gross tonnage > 1,600 GT;
be proficient in the maritime and port environment;
be at least 24 years old and no more than 48 years old on the closing date of the call for applications;
possess physical and cognitive fitness compatible with the duties of a pilot;
and have no condition incompatible with the exercise of pilotage, in particular visual impairments (myopia, astigmatism, color blindness, even mild).
2. Missions and Responsibilities
The main missions of the recruited pilots will be:
to assist ship captains during entry, exit, and movement maneuvers within the PAK pilotage area; to develop and execute passage plans taking into account nautical, meteorological, and operational conditions; to ensure the safety of ships, port infrastructure, and the environment; and
to contribute to improving the operational performance and image of the port.

Ensure compliance with applicable maritime, port and international regulations.

3. Required Skills
Candidates must demonstrate:
• a thorough knowledge of the maneuvers of
large tonnage vessels;
• mastery of the nautical characteristics of a deep-water port; •
the ability to manage stress and make decisions in complex situations; •
analytical skills, rigor, leadership and teamwork; •
a good knowledge of QHSE standards and
international maritime regulations.
Proven interpersonal skills and a strong sense of team cohesion

4. Application File Composition
The file must include:
a stamped, handwritten application addressed to the Director General of the PAK;
a copy of the birth certificate (less than 3 months old);
a seafarer’s medical certificate stating visual acuity;
a certificate of nationality;
a copy of the passport;
a criminal record extract (less than 3 months old); certified copies of diplomas and certificates;
a seafarer’s logbook;
a dated and signed CV;
and four (4) recent passport photos.

5. Submission of Files
Completed files must be submitted
to the Central Mail Service of the Autonomous Port of Kribi
no later than the specified date, without exception.

The practical details of the recruitment process will be communicated in due course.
