CONTEXT

In Cameroon, since 1978, CARE has been implementing actions around three strategic pillars: gender justice, health, and climate and economic justice. Our actions are part of both emergency and resilience phases, aiming to empower women and youth, strengthen community systems, support decentralization processes, and improve sexual and reproductive health services and access. JobsInternationals

As part of the “Maroua Green Inclusive and Sustainable City” (MVVID) project implemented in the Far North region with funding from the Delegation of the European Union, an educational program is open for students.

 As part of this youth-focused program, CARE Cameroon is seeking: 

Number of places : Ten (10)

Internship type : academic 

Department : Programs

Period : three (03) months

Deployment area : in the three district municipalities of the city of Maroua

II. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Under the direct supervision of the Technical Supervisor for Green and Circular Entrepreneurship (STEVC) at CARE Cameroon, a comprehensive internship plan is developed for the supervision and educational monitoring of the interns. This internship plan aims to achieve the following learning objectives for each intern:

β€’ Understand how a development project financed by an international donor works;

β€’ Mastering environmental data collection techniques in the field (KoboCollect);

β€’ Develop skills in monitoring and evaluation of replanted plants and in the management of green spaces;

β€’ Gain practical experience in community mobilization and awareness-raising:

β€’ Contribute to the project’s technical documentation and reporting;

β€’ Apply academic theoretical knowledge in a real professional context.

Desired profile

Training:

To be regularly enrolled in: Bachelor 1; Bachelor 2; Master 1.

In one of the following areas:

* Environment; Sustainable development; Agronomy; Forestry; Geography;

* Natural resource management; Rural engineering; Land-use planning;

* Statistics; Local development; Any related discipline.

Skills and qualities:

* Motivation for environmental issues;

* Willingness to learn and develop new skills;

* Good ability to work in a team;

* Good communication skills;

* Availability for field activities;

* Respect for humanitarian values ​​and principles.
