FOR THE SELECTION OF ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY (180) DEPUTIES AND ONE HUNDRED (100) YOUTH SENATORS OF THE 7th SESSION OF THE “YOUTH PARLIAMENT
1. CONTEXT AND JUSTIFICATION
As part of the organization of the 7th edition of the “Youth Parliament” which will be held from February 6 to 11, 2024, in partnership with the Youth Hope Parliamentary Network (REJE), on the occasion of the celebration of the 58th edition of the Youth Festival, the Minister of Youth and Civic Education launches a Call for Applications for the selection of One Hundred and Eighty (180) Deputies and One Hundred (100) Youth Senators throughout the extent of the national territory.
2. PURPOSE OF THE CALL FOR CANDIDATURE
The purpose of this Call for Application is to select One Hundred and Eighty (180) Deputies and One Hundred (100) Youth Senators from the ten (10) Regions.
3. PROFILE OF THE CANDIDATE
In order to align the configuration of the Youth Parliament in terms of gender and number with that of the National Assembly and the Senate, the selection criteria comply with requirements linked both to the person of the young person and to his quality or skills. To this end, the candidate must:
be of Cameroonian nationality; be at least 15 years old and no more than 35 years old; be a resident of the locality represented; enjoy their civil and moral rights; know how to read and write French and/or English be registered with the National Youth Observatory; have never been selected as a young Deputy; be a Young Municipal Councilor or Young Regional Councilor for the
Young Senators.
For this 2024 edition which aims to promote the participation of young people in local development, peace and social cohesion, priority will be given to young people meeting the following criteria:
having particularly distinguished themselves through civic behavior within of his community; have received training, be in training and/or work in the field of decentralization; have developed a project contributing to local development and the promotion of peace and harmonious living together; be involved in an association serving the community which values national sentiment, promotes peace and good citizenship.
4. SELECTION PROCEDURES
The selection operations will take place in two (02) main phases conducted by Committees set up for this purpose. Said phases concern in particular:
a preselection phase, carried out by the Departmental Committees set up in each locality by the territorially competent Prefect; a final selection phase led by the National Committee for Coordination and Monitoring of selection operations set up by the Minister of Youth and Civic Education.

an illustrated summary (photo or video) of the project possibly carried out by the candidate highlighting the title, the location of implementation, the added value of the project, as well as the results obtained within the framework of its implementation (03 pages maximum ).
6. SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION FILE
Application files must be submitted no later than January 22, 2024 at 3:30 p.m., in digital version via the links indicated above.
They can also be submitted in physical form, in a closed envelope, to the District Delegations of Youth and Civic Education. Said files will be sent to the departmental level for the pre-selection phase.
The application files must bear the following information:

“FOR THE SELECTION OF 100 YOUTH SENATORS FOR THE 7TH SESSION OF THE YOUTH PARLIAMENT.”
