MSF is a non-governmental humanitarian organization, founded in France in 1971 as a non-profit association. The
Swiss section was established in 1981. Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999, MSF’s mission is to provide humanitarian medical assistance to any population in
distress, without discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, religion, philosophy, or political opinion.
