Overview of Role
CHAI Cameroon is seeking a motivated and committed individual to support research activities on Antimicrobial Resistance and drug quality in Cameroon . This position provides hands-on experience in research and public health program management amid one of the most pressing global health threats. The ideal candidate is curious, organized, and eager to contribute to evidence-based interventions that address drug-resistant infections in Cameroon and the region.
Responsibilities
· Lead the development of a study protocol and the associated study tools
· Support the collection and compilation of data on antimicrobial , antimitotic, and other classes of medicines used, resistance patterns, from health facilities and laboratories.
· Conduct literature reviews on AMR trends, evidence-based interventions, and global best practices.
· Perform data entry, cleaning, and preliminary analysis using Excel, SPSS, or similar tools.
· Assist in facilitating the Technical Working Group meetings on AMR prevention.
· Draft activity reports, meeting minutes, manuscripts and program documentation as needed.
· Contribute to the development of policy briefs, advocacy materials, and donor reports related to AMR.
· Maintain organized records of program activities, data, and correspondence.
· Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
· Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a MSc/PhD program in Public Health, Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Epidemiology, or a related field.
· Solid understanding of AMR, drug quality, Drug supply chain, etc.
· Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to review and synthesize scientific literature.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and statistical packages such as R, Stata or SAS, SPPS
· Good written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
· Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team environment.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Prior experience (academic or volunteer) in public health programs, research, or NGO settings is an asset.

· Knowledge of AMR surveillance tools, antibiotic stewardship programs, or One Health approaches is desirable.
· Experience with data analysis software (SPSS, Epi Info, R, or STATA) is an advantage.
· Familiarity with the Cameroonian health system or regional public health context is a plus.
