The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) is inviting eligible research organisations and teams to apply for three research opportunities focused on important issues in England’s education system, including inclusive mainstream education, technical and vocational teaching, and GCSE resit exam board continuity.
Benefits of the opportunities:
📚 Contribute evidence that can inform education policy, practice and future research.
🏫 Investigate real-world challenges affecting schools, colleges and 16–19 learners in England.
🔎 Conduct research using approaches such as qualitative research, classroom observations, mixed methods, impact evaluations and process evaluations, depending on the project.
📊 Generate evidence that may contribute to future EEF guidance and resources.
🌍 Organisations based outside England can also apply where they can demonstrate relevant expertise and knowledge of the English education system.
Three research calls available:
Inclusive Mainstream Fund and Inclusion Strategies Practice Review
Examines how schools develop inclusion strategies and approach Inclusive Mainstream Fund spending.
16–19 Technical and Vocational Teaching Practice Review
Investigates teaching practices in technical and vocational education and their relationship with the ITTECF.
16–19 GCSE Resit Exam Board Continuity
Evaluates whether using the same exam board for GCSE resits affects English and mathematics outcomes.
