Functions:
Social workers will reside on the sites to carry out the following responsibilities:
• Support for the running of Child Friendly Spaces / Protection STEPs, including
support for the team of facilitators to carry out activities with children and communities and ensure their full involvement in the development of activities,
• Home visits, educational talks with children and their parents, individual meetings with victims, monitoring of specific care for ENA and ES;
• Organization and running of awareness sessions, including mass awareness raising;
• Strengthening and supporting child protection committees in each site;
• Coordination with managers and sectoral partners of the sites concerned;
• Referencing and monitoring cases of sexual abuse and other violence against children;
• Active participation with other partners in the implementation of the case referral mechanism;
Required skills and abilities:
• Ability to design and write educational tools;
• Ability to identify signs of children’s distress and to communicate;
Good knowledge of animation, training and working techniques with vulnerable groups •
• Ability to work in a team and in an information network;
• Availability and commitment to the cause of people in difficult situations;
Having worked with children on sensitive themes including psychosocial care,
• Good knowledge of the Gender approach and children’s rights,
• Demonstrate organizational and permanent research skills, Knowledge of English and/or Hausa and Kanouri constitute an important asset;
• Master the IT tool;
• Be available to start as soon as possible; Hold a category A driving license
Level of studies and experience
Have a Social Affairs assistant diploma or an equivalent BAC + 2 diploma minimum
• Have at least two years of work experience with children in a difficult situation
• Previous experience of similar work is strongly sought after
