Job Title: Professional Intern – Finance / Accounting
Work location: Douala – Cameroon Offersemployment Cameroon
Reporting line: Group Chief Accountant / FP&A Analyst
Duration: 6 to 12 months (professional internship)
Purpose of the position
Support the Finance and Accounting teams in their daily work, develop practical skills in accounting, reporting and financial analysis, and contribute to the group’s deliverables under supervision.
Main responsibilities
• Participate in the entry and filing of accounting documents for the various entities.
• Contribute to bank reconciliations and account justification.
• Support the preparation of dashboards, reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Assist in the collection and processing of financial data using Excel.
• Participate in monthly closing activities under the supervision of the Chief Accountant.
• Contribute to updating internal files and procedures.
• Carry out any ad hoc analysis or support task assigned by management.
Key deliverables
• Accounting documents entered and filed correctly.
• Reconciliation statements and supporting documents for accounts prepared.
• Tables and data files updated on time.
• Support for closing and reporting files.
Skills and qualifications
• Currently enrolled or completed (Bachelor’s/Master’s degree) in Accounting, Finance, Management or Auditing.
• Solid foundations in general accounting and in the OHADA/SYSCOHADA framework.
• Good command of Excel and office tools.
• Rigor, organizational skills, curiosity and a learning spirit.
• Ability to work in a team and respect confidentiality.
• Proficiency in French; knowledge of English is an asset.
Perimeter
• Cross-functional support to the Accounting, Management Control and FP&A teams of the group.
• Work under the direct supervision of the Chief Accountant or the FP&A Analyst.
