JOB OBJECTIVES ▪ The successful candidate will be responsible for the company’s tax compliance while optimizing its tax burden, respecting current regulations, and ensuring rigorous accounting. Furthermore, you will work at the heart of the finance department, in close collaboration with internal teams and external partners. Union Bank of Cameroon Plc is currently seeking a Senior Tax Accountant for its head office in Douala, Cameroon. The position is open to both internal and external candidates .
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Ensure the recording and monitoring of
accounting operations;
▪ Ensure compliance with accounting and tax standards;
▪ Prepare tax payments; ▪
Estimate and verify tax returns
▪ Prepare quarterly and
annual tax reports;
▪ Recommend tax strategies aligned with
company objectives;
▪ Prepare the necessary documents for tax payments and
returns;
▪ Identify tax savings and propose
solutions to increase profits;
▪ Monitor industry trends and
tax changes;tax
forecasts to senior management▪ Monitor tax developments and ensure compliance withlegal obligations;▪ Advise management on tax optimization andfinancial strategies;Job Profile▪ Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in a similar position orin an accounting/tax firm;▪ Excellent command ofCameroonian tax and accounting standards;▪ Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite,accounting software, and tax regulations;▪ Bilingualism (English/French) is mandatory, orat least fluency in one of the two languages; TECHNICAL SKILLS INTERPERSONAL SKILLS ▪ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and Management, Taxation,Finance, or any other equivalent field;▪ High level of initiative and leadership,keen attention to detail;▪ Ability to build strong relationships withinternal and external stakeholders and influence theirdecisions;▪ Flexible and open to changing priorities and managingmultiple tasks simultaneously undertight deadlines.As a transparent, responsible,merit-driven, and service-excellent company, Union Bank of Cameroon Plcchampions equal employment opportunities and continuously strivesto recruit ambitious young talent while promotinginternal talent.
