JUNE 2, 2025 OF TWO (02) ENGINEERS IN MOBILITY AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS AT THE COORDINATION UNIT OF THE PROJECT TO SUPPORT THE URBAN COMMUNITIES OF DOUALA AND YAOUNDE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY PLANS
1. PURPOSE OF THE RECRUITMENT NOTICE
The Mobility Observatory of the Project Unit for Supporting the Urban Communities of Douala and Yaoundé in the Implementation of their Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (ATCUDY) is recruiting two (02) engineers to join its dynamic team, dedicated to the analysis and evolution of urban transport systems for a period of seventeen (17) months.
2. CONTEXT OF THE MISSION
The Urban Communities of Douala and Yaoundé, with the technical support of Bordeaux Métropole, have received a grant from the European Commission and will have to use part of this funding in the context of recruiting external staff to support the project.
3. ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT
As part of its missions, the incumbents will be responsible for:
– Collecting, analyzing and interpreting data related to mobility (traffic,
public transport, active modes, etc.).
Contribute to the implementation of digital solutions for the analysis and management of mobility flows.
• Collaborate with experts in urban planning, transport and geographic data to develop reliable tools and forecasts.Participate in the drafting of analysis reports and the presentation of results to stakeholders. Design and monitor feasibility studies that will be initiated within the framework of the project. Monitor traffic surveys.Monitor the indicators contained in the sustainable urban mobility plan of the City of Douala.Work in close collaboration with other stakeholders of the ATCUDY project and other stakeholders in mobility issues in the city of Douala. 4. Desired profile: Engineering degree in transport engineering, urban planning, geography, economics, computer science, or data management or similar field.Strong skills in GIS data analysis (QGIS, ArcGIS), database management and (Python, R, SQL, etc.) would be a plus.Good command of project management tools and collaborative environments (Agile, Jira, etc.).Team spirit, ability to work independently, and excellent interpersonal skills. A first experience in the field of mobility (urban transport, smart city, etc.) would be a plus. 5.
