Axe Media is a 100% digital general-interest media outlet that provides quality, sourced, verified, and relevant information to Cameroonian youth on social media. We want to create a world where every young Cameroonian, through enriching and accessible information, becomes an informed, conscious citizen actively engaged in the challenges facing their society. As a Multimedia Journalism intern, you will play a key role within the newsroom for a period of 4 to 6 months (full-time), participating in the entire process of producing news content designed for social media.
Responsibilities
• Your tasks will include:
•- Actively monitoring Cameroonian news, evaluating the relevance and credibility of information.
•- Writing short news items and transforming them into infographics using Canva before publishing them on social media.
• Write scripts for engaging news videos.
• Shoot videos in various formats, including voice-over, on-camera, vox pop, and on-location reporting.
• Video editing skills using CapCut will be considered an asset.
Requirements
• Degree in journalism, communication, digital media, or a related field
• A strong desire to learn with enthusiasm and motivation is essential
• Proactive, a team player, and conscientious • Hands-on learning in a growing digital media environment •
