As part of its library’s redesign, the Goethe-Institut Kamerun is offering library internships to further its contribution to the professionalization of the information science and documentation sector. Three (3) distinct internship categories are available to interested individuals and institutions:
- Introductory internship
This program is designed for secondary school students (lower sixth and upper sixth) who wish to discover how a library works and its various activities. Duration: 2 weeks (June).Objective: to immerse themselves in the library environment, participate in simple daily tasks, and discover the services offered to the public.
- Academic internship
For students enrolled in a program related to book, library, archive, or documentation professions. Duration: 12 weeks, depending on the institution’s requirements (July – September).Objective: to deepen knowledge and participate in concrete projects (cataloging, programming, public reception, collection promotion, etc.).
- Professional internship / career change
Open to individuals in continuing education, career transitions, or job seekers.Duration: 12 weeks (October – May).Objective: to acquire practical skills through personalized support and integration into the library’s daily operations.
