I – PRESENTATION
OF THE JOB Under the responsibility of the Deputy Regional Director – Administration, the accountant ensures the verification and consolidation of the regional management’s accounting operations in accordance with the rules in force and participates in the improvement of the accounting systems and methods used.
He/she supports regional management by ensuring the availability of quality financial and accounting information to facilitate decision-making.
II – MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Carrying out, controlling and monitoring the accounting operations of the regional management and its locations
• Carrying out adjustment entries for the accounts
• Preparing employee payroll
• Processing and paying invoices
• Reviewing monthly accounting entries
• Checking accounting documents
• Supporting cash flow management, particularly ensuring the security, transparency and speed of mobilization and execution of these operations
• Controlling the financial execution of projects financed by the AUF• Managing periodic closings within the given deadlines• Analyzing income statements• Ensuring the relevance and compliance with the internal control rules in use within the AUF• Maintaining accounting and administrative files• Participating in verification, control and monitoring missionsParticipation in the periodic accounting and financial analysis of the regional management and its locations• Producing dashboards, analyses and periodic financial evaluation reports on budgetary and financial execution• Participate in the development of budget forecasts and annual budget construction• Participate in the preparation of the annual audit file• Carry out accounting closing work.
• Monitor fixed assets
• Develop methods and tools for optimizing control and accounting monitoring in compliance with accounting rules
III – QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Education
• Undergraduate university degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant field
Experience
• At least five (5) years of experience in the field of employment
• Experience in an international, multi-site and multicultural context, an
asset Skills
• Solid knowledge of accounting and finance
• Knowledge of accounting and financial data analysis
• Knowledge of budgetary, financial and accounting techniques and procedures
• Fluency in written and oral French
• Ability to communicate in written and oral English
• Proficiency in office automation tools and information systems used in the field of finance and accounting (spreadsheets, databases, ERP, etc.)
• Good ability to carry out accounting closing work
• Good knowledge of the rules and procedures of donors (EU, AFD, etc.)
• Ability to evolve in an academic, international, multi-site and multicultural environment
• Demonstrate a strong sense of compliance
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Ability to meet deadlines

IV – CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Place of assignment: Yaoundé, Cameroon
• Type of contract: Fixed-term contract of four (4) to five (5) months
