For the Kudu Zombo Program, we are looking for a dynamic and committed Accountant.

Duration: Two (02) years
Mission of the department
In a spirit of excellence, integrity and dedication, the Finance &
Administration department is committed to providing accurate, clear and comprehensive information and support for a high-performing WWF Cameroon Office (CCO), with effective and efficient financial and accounting operations, logistics and IT services, systems, internal control as well as financial resource management that will contribute to the successful delivery of conservation activities and the overall strategic plan. Main functions The Accountant corrects, processes and reconciles a wide variety of accounting documents such as invoices, program invoices, employee reimbursements, cash receipts and supplier statements; reviews financial information; prepares and processes documents to disburse funds, make deposits and prepare reports ; he prepares bank signatory updates, prepares consultant contracts and grants, compiles and reviews information for accuracy ; maintains records. Main Duties and Responsibilities • Process payments and documents such as invoices, vouchers, employee reimbursements and statements; • Enter, update and/or retrieve accounting data from automated systems; • Assign codes to data; • Prepare financial reports (donors and management) for assigned projects ; • Determine content and collate data to prepare monthly reports for review; • Ensure pre-audit, verification and processing of employee expense claims , reviewing rules to ensure employee compliance ; • Establish and review work methods, forms, formats and standards to improve operational efficiency; • Ensure that work meets quality and production standards by verifying accuracy and proper execution of work and monitoring production; • File and/or retrieve records and reports;


• Assist in closing monthly accounts ensuring that
cash management, accounts payable and general ledger data is up to date;
• Assist in preparing cost recovery journals and uploading them into
Oracle system;
• Perform the following Oracle roles: AP User, GL User and use AGIS;
• Prepare bank reconciliations and perform analysis of general ledger accounts
manually and in Oracle system;
• Maintain adequate control over various financial documents such as commitments
and expenditures against budgeted amounts; take actions related
to the following: general financial information, travel payments and
purchase transactions;
• Verify the accuracy of vendor claims and their compliance with
WWF financial rules and regulations. Verify reimbursement requests against documentation
to ensure that purchases/services are properly authorized and that goods have been received or services rendered; and ensure timely
recording and processing of vendor invoices in Oracle; • Perform analysis of Interco accounts; • Monitor vendor advances and other receivables and ensure timely clearance of outstanding vendor items, taking follow-up corrective actions where necessary; • Prepare bank signatory updates in accordance with the approved signatory matrix and WWF Bank Management Procedures; • With Logistics, coordinate asset register inventory and system entry; • Provide assistance to all staff services such as travel, expense reports , document retrieval, etc.; • Perform other related duties as required. Profile Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field and professional accounting qualification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) is required; • At least three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in financial accounting, preferably in an international environment (NGO or corporate); • Experience working with government and donors; • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly an advanced level in MS Excel, is required;

• Experience using an ERP system is highly desirable.
Required Skills and Competencies:
• Knowledge of automated accounting systems. Knowledge of Oracle would be
an added advantage
• Knowledge of spreadsheets and database software;
• Knowledge of general archiving and filing systems;
• Ability to understand and apply current accounting guidelines,
system updates and revisions, and policy changes;
• Ability to reconcile and/or balance financial transactions and accounts;
• Ability to manage contracts and update bank signatories;
• Ability to assist others in resolving business issues;
• Have a high sense of ethics and a personal commitment to transparency
and accountability.
