JOB TITLE: Chief Accountant

LOCATION: Akwa – Douala

CONTRACT: Permanent / according to collective agreement

SUPERVISOR: Financial and Accounting Director

MAIN MISSION To supervise and guarantee the reliability of the company’s accounting and financial operations, ensure legal and tax compliance, and provide the General Management with strategic financial information for decision-making.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise bookkeeping and ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual closings; Prepare financial statements in accordance with OHADA standards and Cameroonian tax obligations; Monitor cash flow, financial transactions, and banking relationships; Control tax and social security declarations (CNPS, taxes); Supervise the accounting team; Participate in budget preparation and monitoring of production costs (refining, logistics, marketing); Collaborate with internal and external auditors; Produce and present financial statements to the General Management and the Board of Directors

REQUIRED PROFILE: Advanced degree in Accounting,  Finance, or Auditing (DSCG, Master’s degree in Accounting, Control, and Auditing, or equivalent); Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in accounting within the food processing or manufacturing industry; Mastery of OHADA accounting standards and Cameroonian tax obligations; Good knowledge of accounting and ERP software (Sage, Odoo, etc.); Rigor, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure; Leadership and ability to manage a team; Bilingual (French/English) preferred Finance

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs) Reliability of financial statements: error or correction rate < 2% per financial year Compliance with closing deadlines: monthly closing completed within 5 business days following the end of the month Tax and social security compliance: 100% of declarations filed within legal deadlines Cash management: maintenance of a positive cash balance and monitoring of budget variances < 5% Team management: internal satisfaction rate > 80% and reduction in turnover Monitoring of production costs: variance between actual and forecasted costs < 10% Quality of financial reports: submission of reports to the Executive Committee within the established deadlines (monthly/quarterly)
