Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, oversee, and coordinate the design and construction of infrastructure projects, especially railway lines, haul roads, bridges, and transport systems .
  • Manage contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure adherence to engineering specifications and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, environmental impact assessments, and risk evaluations for infrastructure development.
  • Liaise with government agencies, utility providers, and communities to secure approvals and maintain productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Monitor project performance in terms of cost, timeline, and quality, producing regular progress reports for executive leadership.
  • Implement and oversee infrastructure maintenance strategies to ensure long-term asset reliability.
  • Guarantee full compliance with mining safety standards, engineering codes, and corporate sustainability practices.
  • Contribute to capital planning and infrastructure investment decisions in line with business growth strategies.
  • Supervises procurement activities related to infrastructure components and technical services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure development, including at least 3 years in railway or heavy civil construction .
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale infrastructure projects in industrial, mining, or transportation sectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of railway design standards, logistics planning, and heavy haulage systems.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (eg, MS Project, Primavera) and engineering software (eg, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in both English and French

Preferred/Optional Experience:

  • Experience with mineral terminals (eg, portside handling, loading systems, or bulk export logistics).
  • Familiarity with Cameroonian infrastructure laws and environmental regulations.
  • Background in developing infrastructure in remote or cross-border operational environments.
