As part of strengthening logistics management and improving the operational efficiency of its Cameroon office, Helen Keller International is recruiting a Logistics Intern based in Yaoundé .

Internship objective

The Logistics intern will provide cross-functional support to the office’s logistics activities, particularly in travel planning, equipment management and maintenance, stock and small store management, receiving and distributing materials, as well as the administrative and security monitoring of logistics operations.

  1.  Main responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Logistics & Security Associate, the intern will contribute to the following activities:

1. Support for travel and coordination

  • Participate in the planning and organization of staff and partner travel (field missions and local travel).
  • Supporting logistical coordination related to staff movements.

2. Equipment management and maintenance

  • Support the monitoring of vehicle and electrical and electronic equipment maintenance.
  • Supporting the administrative management of equipment (insurance, registration, stickers, plates, permits).

Ø   Security

  • Participate in the development and updating of the security plan and visitor guide.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of compliance with office security procedures and standards.

4. Stock and small shop management

  • Contribute to the receipt, control, storage and provision of materials, equipment, consumables and supplies.
  • Assist in updating stock records, incoming and outgoing stock movements, and small shop registers.
  • Participate in regular inventories and report any breakage, anomaly or discrepancy observed.
  • Supporting the organization of the store: tidying, labeling and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Support the application of rules for stock storage, rotation and security.

5. Logistics Flow Management

  • Participate in monitoring the movement of materials between warehouses, the small
  • Support the administration and project teams in the preparation and deployment of equipment to the regions, in coordination with partners.

6. Administrative and financial monitoring

•         Contribute to the entry and updating of vehicle and equipment logbooks.

  • Participate in receiving orders and verifying the conformity of documents (delivery notes, invoices, etc.).
  • Support the processing and monitoring of monthly office invoices (Eneo, Camwater, etc.).

7. Desired Profile

  • BTS or Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transport Supply Chain, Management or a similar field

  Technical skills

  • Basic knowledge of logistics, inventory management and supply chain.
  • Concepts of archiving and document management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word .

 Behavioral skills

  • Sense of organization and rigor.
  • Ability to respect and apply procedures.
  • Team spirit and ease in a multicultural environment.
  • Dynamism, motivation and a sense of initiative.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Duration : 6 months
  • Type : Full-time professional internship
  • Working hours : Monday to Friday
  • Location : Helen Keller International Cameroon Office, Yaoundé
