About the Opportunity
micro1 is recruiting experienced HR and People Operations professionals to design tasks that evaluate the capabilities of AI systems.
Your professional expertise is what matters most; prior AI experience is not required.
The role involves transforming real-world HR workflows into realistic, challenging, and objectively gradable benchmark tasks. Examples include developing HR policies, creating payroll checklists, and assessing how employee cases are handled against established standards.
Scope of Work and Responsibilities
- Design multi-step tasks based on real HR operations, including payroll management, workforce planning, policy application, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Establish objective grading criteria that enable two qualified reviewers to reach consistent conclusions when evaluating the same output.
- Develop tasks that require professional judgment and accurate interpretation of source materials rather than simple information retrieval.
- Create or source supporting materials, such as policy documents, payroll reports, headcount data, and employment agreements.
- Identify and flag tasks that are ambiguous or cannot be graded objectively rather than submitting them.
- Deliver approved tasks on schedule and in accordance with the required quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications and Requirements
- At least five years of hands-on experience in payroll, workforce planning, HR policy, or employee lifecycle operations. Direct responsibility for the work is required; supervisory-only or adjacent experience is insufficient.
- Experience developing or applying structured standards, such as HR policies, payroll checklists, process documentation, compliance frameworks, or training assessments.
- Ability to work confidently with spreadsheets, reports, and policy documents simultaneously.
- HR certification, such as SHRM, CIPD, PHR, or an equivalent qualification, is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong written and spoken English proficiency (B2 minimum; C1 preferred).
- Experience evaluating AI systems or large language models (LLMs) is an advantage but not required.

- Apply: Submit your application and complete the screening questions.
- AI Interview: Complete the role-specific interview to demonstrate your expertise to the client. Even if you have interviewed with micro1 before, you must complete this interview for the role.
