HIERARCHICAL REPORTING The Legal-Tax Assistant reports to the company’s Tax Manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
A. TAX AND REGULATORY MONITORING
Participate in the preparation of tax returns within the legal deadlines.
Verify the tax compliance of supporting documents and accounting transactions.
Contribute to the preparation of tax audit files and to exchanges with the tax authorities
Verify the tax treatment of invoices, contracts, purchase and export transactions
Participate in monitoring VAT, withholding taxes, corporate income taxes, specific taxes and other applicable levies
Conduct research on tax laws, administrative doctrine and case law
Contributing to the prevention and control of tax risks
B. REPORTING AND MONITORING
Develop tables to track contracts and tax obligations
Prepare periodic reports for management
Collect all new regulations from the tax, customs and treasury authorities and maintain a monitoring log
Participate in raising awareness among teams regarding applicable tax and documentary rules

PROFILE SOUGHT
TRAINING
Bachelor’s degree in private law or taxation, or equivalent qualification
Additional training in customs law, tax law, OHADA law, business law or export regulations is appreciated.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
A minimum of two years of accumulated professional internships in companies, law firms, tax firms, accounting firms, or tax administrations
Experience in the agricultural, agri-food, commercial, customs, logistics or export sectors is appreciated.
Experience in monitoring tax returns and import/export formalities is an advantage.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Expertise in tax law and business law
Understanding VAT mechanisms, withholding taxes and reporting obligations
Knowledge of OHADA law
Ability to analyze legal and tax texts
Ability to write letters and reports
Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of management software or accounting software is appreciated.
Good ability to classify, archive and track documents
Good expression in French and English
