WWF’s mission is to end the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and build a future in which people live in harmony with nature , conserving the world’s biological diversity, ensuring that use of renewable natural resources is sustainable and promoting the reduction of pollution and waste. For our National Office in Cameroon (CCO), we are looking for a dynamic and committed “Risk and Compliance Officer”. Reports to: National Director Location: Yaoundé Duration: Two (02) years Mission of the department Ensure an efficient WWF Cameroon office with financial and financial operations and systems

effective and efficient accounting, as well as sound management of financial resources, in order to
carry out conservation activities. The department ensures that effective and
efficient internal control management and a solid financial foundation are established.
Main Functions
Under the supervision of the National Director:
 Work in collaboration with the Finance & Administration department and
relevant stakeholders to assess the implementation and monitoring of the internal control framework;
 Support the Administrative and Financial Director in improving the
overall financial management of projects hosted by WWF Cameroon, by achieving and maintaining a high
level of performance in relation to the objectives set for the
country’s KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and dashboard indicators;
 Ensure that the review of the internal control system for field offices is
carried out in accordance with the agreed work plan and report any potential risks to the
National Director;
 Ensure that all CCO implementing partners comply with WWF standards
, that all financial management policies are respected in all projects;
Ensure effective implementation of all financial policies, procedures and
legal requirements in the country office, such that policies and procedures are
adapted, where appropriate, to comply with country laws;
 Assist the finance team in streamlining financial processes and procedures within the CCO
and promote new financial initiatives and requirements;
 Assess training and capacity building needs for
financial staff and key non-financial staff and define corresponding actions and
implementation planning. Help organize physical training and
capacity building sessions and assess the actual added value.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Ensure an environment of effective controls and compliance within the CCO, through
 Ensure that the WWF CCO risk and management register is updated with
quarterly monitoring of actions to be taken to mitigate identified risks;
 Ensure that risk mitigation plans are put in place;
 Monitor that projects implement and comply with WWF
International policies and procedures/donor requirements and the risk and control framework;
 Carry out regular field reviews of national projects to identify
control gaps and areas of non-compliance with national policies and procedures;
 Support projects in implementing effective processes to ensure
full compliance with WWF International policies and procedures;
 Prepare and coordinate internal/external audits. Conduct and direct internal audits
in accordance with the Field Operations Manual;
 Contribute to the coordination of management responses to findings made by auditors.
Develop and implement training, tools and support for the country office:
 Propose best practices to senior management to improve
financial performance in key areas such as cost recovery, budgeting and forecasting
, balance sheet analysis, cash flow management, etc.;
 Support initiatives aimed at implementing financial “best practices” in the
Program Office.
Profile
Required Qualifications
 Accounting certification, e.g. ACCA, CPA, or Masters in International Business or
Finance, MBA;
 At least five (05) years of experience in the field of finance and accounting are
essential;
 At least two (02) years of management experience, with proven experience in
working with multicultural and decentralized teams;
 Strong knowledge of financial matters, including financial reporting, controls
and budgeting;
 Experience implementing new processes and systems;
 Previous experience within an NGO and international exposure is an
asset;
 Knowledge of the WWF network would be an advantage.
Required skills and competencies:
 Good knowledge of financial management and related control policies;
 Excellent analytical skills;
 Experience in risk management;
 Relevant degree of responsibility and commitment to excellence;
 Strong project and operations management skills, as well as a
well-organized approach to work;  Ability to train others and explain complex concepts in a
simple manner;
 Interpersonal skills, ability to interact and positively influence
project management and relevant staff in different
functional areas;

 Experience and good understanding of functioning in different cultural environments ;
 Ability to drive change and achieve high performance;
 Decisive, proactive, collaborative and excellent communicator;
 Excellent command of English and French, both oral and written;
 Proficiency in office computer applications – word processing, spreadsheets and
presentation – and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software;
 Be available to go to the field;
 Passion and commitment to conservation and sustainable development.
