Action Against Hunger is an international, apolitical, non-
denominational and non-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). For our operations in Cameroon, we are looking for:
TEN (10) DRIVERS M/F
Base of attachment: Maroua
Number of positions: 10 drivers
Contract duration: Update of the driver pool
Start date: July 2025 (validity 12 months)
Supervised by: Logistics and general resources manager
Location: Far North and/or North region
Gross salary for the category: According to the current salary scale of Action Against Hunger
Objective of the position: Drive people and goods and ensure the maintenance of the vehicle under its responsibility. In particular, you will have the following responsibilities: Responsibilities 1: Transport people and goods in good safety conditions: Activities: – Transport ACF employees in compliance with national traffic regulations, according to the schedules and directives of the Logistician; – In the event of an accident, immediately take the necessary steps at the nearest police station and inform the logistics department as soon as possible – Use the vehicle according to the manufacturer’s instructions and ACF rules – Carry all personal and vehicle documents and ensure their validity. Responsibilities 2: Ensure vehicle maintenance: Activities: – Resolve minor technical problems; – Notify the logistics department of major repairs to be carried out; – Carry out daily checks before starting; – Clean the vehicle; – Ensure GSM communications if there are no passengers; – Record fuel consumption at the beginning and end of the day and any information relating to vehicle maintenance in the logbook ; – Check the safety trunks. Responsibilities 3: Prepare departures in the field: Activities: – Inspect and prepare the vehicle the day before departure to be ready on time; – Prepare additional equipment to be taken as needed (fuel, stickers, flags, tools, medical kit). Qualifications/Level of studies/Experience: – CAP or BEP level diploma; – Experience in a similar position with an international NGO; – Have a category B, C and D driving license. – Having experience in humanitarian work would be an asset; – Previous experience with Action Against Hunger; – Good knowledge of the Far North and North region;
– Good knowledge of local languages and French;
– Good knowledge of basic safety rules.
