A recruitment opportunity is available for an experienced Logistics & Procurement Officer to support logistics, procurement, shipping, and supply chain operations within the telecommunications sector.

1. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Ensuring proper documentation for international shipments by air and sea.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant logistics and procurement regulatory bodies, including Customs.
• Conducting due diligence on existing and prospective suppliers.
• Monitoring and tracking shipments from origin to final destination.
• Monitoring the quality, cost, and efficiency of goods transportation and storage.
• Providing logistics support to site engineers.
• Participating in project planning, including cost estimates and budget preparation.
• Managing domestic transportation and ensuring the safe delivery of equipment to various sites.
• Analysing performance data and identifying opportunities to improve vendor performance.
• Preparing and maintaining monthly shipment reports.
• Managing warehouse and storage operations.
• Overseeing security, inventory management, and reporting.

2. Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualifications

• A three-year degree (BSc.) or National Diploma in Logistics and Procurement, Commerce, Transport, or a related field.

Professional Experience

• At least two (2) years of experience as a Logistics Officer in the telecommunications sector is essential.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant industry experience.

3. Required Skills and Competencies

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Knowledge of negotiation and supply chain management.
• A sound understanding of supply chain management procedures.
• Working knowledge of purchasing, shipping procedures, and Incoterms.
• Strong contract negotiation and influencing skills.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• High standards of integrity, ethics, and professional conduct.
• Strong organisational and logistics coordination skills.
