I – STATUS AND MISSIONS OF THE BEAC

The Bank of Central African States (BEAC) is the common Central Bank of the six (06) member states of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), namely: the Republic of Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Republic of Congo, the Gabonese Republic, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Chad.

Its head office is located in Yaoundé in the Republic of Cameroon.

The BEAC’s missions are to:

    define and conduct monetary policy in CEMAC;
    issue banknotes and metallic currencies which have legal tender and deliberative power in CEMAC;
    conduct the exchange rate policy of CEMAC;
    hold and manage the official foreign exchange reserves of the member states;
    promote payment and settlement systems and ensure their proper functioning;
    promote financial stability in CEMAC.

The BEAC is organizing a recruitment competition for 157 Middle Management Agents (AEM) at Bac +2/3 level (BTS, DUT, Licence and equivalent) in various professions listed below for all its Centers.

 II – GENERAL CONDITIONS

This competition is open exclusively to nationals of CEMAC member states (Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Chad), aged 35 years or less on the date of application.

Candidates must enjoy their civil rights and not have been convicted of an afflictive or infamous punishment. Participation of BEAC Agents meeting the diploma requirements and presenting an exemplary disciplinary record is authorized, without age or seniority conditions. The recruited candidates are, if necessary, called upon to serve at the Central Services of the BEAC in Yaoundé, in the National Directorates and Agencies based in the six (06) member states of CEMAC, at the General Secretariat of the COBAC in Libreville as well as at the BEAC Office in Paris. Candidates definitively admitted to the competition will then have to follow a paid probationary internship of three months and a trial period, if applicable, of a cumulative duration not exceeding six months. A medical certificate of aptitude for the Bank’s professions will be required from candidates eligible for the oral tests. The profiles of the positions to be filled are listed below: N° POSITION PROFILE SHEET 1 Actuary (01 position) Actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field       2 Administrative agent (03 positions) Management Sciences, Business Administration, Law.

    A detailed and updated curriculum vitae including the work certificate(s) or employment certificates where applicable as proof of professional experience;
    A copy of the National Identity Card, valid receipt or passport;
    A criminal record less than three (03) months old;
    Certified copies of diplomas and certificates.

In addition, all applications must specify the chosen position in the subject line; only one position is authorized per application. The candidate’s first and last names appearing in the cover letter and the Curriculum vitae must follow the order entered in their identity document.

Any application that does not meet these criteria will be systematically rejected.

IV – ORGANIZATION OF THE COMPETITION

Successful candidates will participate in a competition comprising common and specialized written tests, then oral and psychotechnical tests if they are declared admissible.

The written tests will be organized in the capitals of the six (06) CEMAC member states.

The oral exams and psychometric tests will be organized in Yaoundé and possibly in the capitals of the five (05) other CEMAC Member States.

The procedures for conducting the tests will be specified in the invitation letter.

Candidates may participate in the written and oral tests in the language of their choice between English, French, Spanish and Arabic. The choice of the language of composition must be indicated on the site when submitting the application.
