1- Context and Justification
MUFID BERTOUA COOP-CA is a first-category microfinance institution with a Board of Directors, located in the East Region of Cameroon. It is affiliated with the Union of


Development Financial Mutuals (MUFID Union) network and intends to fully play its role in the
microfinance sector, particularly within the MUFID network, by contributing to the achievement of
the following ambitions:
➤ To excel in agricultural financing in rural areas of Cameroon;
➤ To be a major player in the financial inclusion of populations, the financing of
micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and in development.
As part of strengthening its sales team and promoting financial inclusion,
MUFID Bertoua is launching a call for applications for the position of
Credit Portfolio Manager. The Credit Portfolio Manager ‘s
mission is to develop the members’ portfolio by prospecting, preparing, and analyzing loan applications. They will rigorously monitor repayments, conduct field visits to assess financed activities, and ensure debt recovery. They will provide regular reports to their superiors and actively contribute to achieving MUFID’s objectives. They will also participate in the implementation of development strategies and ensure member satisfaction. Job Description: 1) Prospecting for new members and developing the credit portfolio: Identify potential members in MUFID’s intervention area; Organize information and awareness sessions on the credit products offered; Propose strategies for mobilizing, retaining, and developing the members’ portfolio; 2) Preparing and analyzing loan applications: Assist members in preparing their loan applications; Conduct field investigations to verify the viability of the activities to be financed: Evaluate members’ repayment capacity and the profitability of their projects; 3. Monitor deadlines and debt collection. Ensure the proper use of loans granted to members. Strictly adhere to the repayment schedule.

Follow up with members in case of delays and initiate debt recovery actions.

Work closely with internal structures to prevent over-indebtedness.
4. Conduct field visits to assess members’ activities.


Regularly visit funded activity sites to assess progress.
Verify the alignment between the loan granted and its actual use in the field.
Provide members with advice on managing their resources and the profitability of their
activities.
5. Ensure regular reporting of activities to management.
Update loan portfolio monitoring tools.
Produce periodic activity reports (weekly, monthly).
Identify risks and propose corrective measures.
Participate in performance analysis meetings with management.
6. Contribute to the implementation of MUFID’s development strategies.
Participate in discussions on the financing needs expressed by members.
Support the implementation of products and services adapted to the local context.
Contribute to achieving established lending and portfolio quality objectives.
Actively participate in communication and financial education activities for members.
Qualifications and Experience:
Hold a minimum of a two- or three-year post-secondary degree (Bac +2/3) in Banking, Microfinance, Finance, Management, or
equivalent.
Sound knowledge of loan application preparation and analysis techniques.
Have at least two years of relevant experience in credit management or a
similar position, preferably in a microfinance institution.
Technical skills:
Financial analysis and loan application preparation;
Loan portfolio management and monitoring;
Mastery of credit procedures and the legal framework
; Use of banking and office management tools;
Risk management and production of monitoring reports.
Personal qualities:
Excellent interpersonal skills
; Rigorous and possessing excellent analytical and summarization skills
; Excellent written and oral communication skills
; Strong listening skills and understanding of the needs of members;
Solution/results oriented.
