Main Duties
The General Practitioner will:
Provide general medical consultations and follow-up for adults and children
Provide basic gynecology and obstetrics care, including antenatal and postnatal follow-up
Provide pediatric care, including growth monitoring and management of common childhood illnesses
Assess, stabilize, and manage common medical emergencies before referral if needed
Perform minor surgical procedures (eg, suturing, abscess drainage, wound care, circumcision as applicable)
Assist the surgeon in the operating theater during surgical procedures
Prescribe and monitor treatments according to national and clinical guidelines
Provide health education and counseling to patients and families
Ensure proper referral of patients to higher-level facilities when clinically indicated
Work closely with nurses, midwives, laboratory, and administrative staff to ensure quality, safe, and timely care
Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement activities
Contribute to infection prevention and control practices within the clinic
Maintain clear, complete, and accurate patient records and respect clinical protocols
Ensure respect for medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and professionalism at all times
Required Profile
Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized medical school/institution
Registration with the Cameroon Medical Council
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (experience in a private clinic is an advantage)
Experience in gynecology and obstetrics care
Experience in pediatric care
Experience in minor surgery procedures
Humble, polite, and respectful
Strong team spirit and good collaboration with colleagues
Compassionate and patient with clients
Good listener with good verbal and written communication skills
Dynamic, flexible, and able to adapt to clinical needs
Able to work under pressure and manage several patients at the same time
Willing to work in shifts, evenings, and weekends/public holidays according to the duty roster
Basic computer skills (use of electronic records and Microsoft Office)
Bilingual: French (fluent), English (working proficiency)
Neat, well-dressed, and professional appearance
Focused, meticulous, punctual, and willing to perform other related tasks as needed

Desired Profile
