🏛️ ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
Saint Jean University Institute of Cameroon (IUSJC) is a private institution of excellence in higher education. The institution is recruiting a Library Assistant Intern to support its library operations at the Eyang campus.
🎯 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Welcoming, informing, and guiding library users.
- Assisting users with their research activities.
- Managing document lending, returns, reservations, and overdue notices.
- Registering, cataloguing, preparing, and classifying library documents.
- Labelling, covering, and attaching security tags to documents.
- Organizing shelves and ensuring the proper maintenance of library collections.
- Updating library records and information in the Integrated Library System (ILS).
🎓 REQUIRED PROFILE
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science (Library Science or Documentation), Archival Studies, Digital Humanities, or an equivalent qualification.
Technical Skills:
- Good knowledge of an Integrated Library System (ILS), such as PMB, Koha, or an equivalent platform.
- Proficiency in office software.
Personal Qualities:
- Love of books and passion for customer service.
- Courtesy and excellent communication skills.
- Rigor and a strong sense of organization.
- Discretion and professionalism.
Additional Advantage:
- Previous experience working in a library.
