Position based in Douala.
JOB PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Applications Manager, the IT Officer provides user support and manages the portfolio
of banking applications, ensuring their availability in accordance with the defined SLA (Service Level Agreement).
REPORTING LINE
SUPERVISOR: Applications Manager
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure the smooth operation of banking platforms and other applications.
• Participate in development and ensure the evolution of applications.
• Study and advise departments to find applications that meet the company’s functional needs
(user interfaces).
• Work with Analysts or external service providers.
• Gather user requirements and write functional specifications.
• Write application operating procedures.
• Implement backup procedures to ensure business continuity.
• Study project feasibility.
• Develop application specifications and create prototypes.
• Manage a team of technicians responsible for application deployment and support.
JOB PROFILE
• At least 2 years of experience in IT operations within a financial institution,
ideally combined with experience in developing management software projects within a banking environment
.
• Proficiency in BEAC, CNC, and COBAC applications (TEG, SYSTAC, SYGMA, CIP, FIBANE).
Experience and Qualifications
• Relevant training is at the Bachelor’s +4 or Bachelor’s +5 level (Master’s/Engineering degree in Computer Science specializing in
the design, analysis, and development of Information Systems).

• Analytical skills, autonomy, and rigor.
• Proficiency in development methods and tools, and in several programming languages or
operating systems.
• A sense of innovation.

• Ability to work under pressure.
• Fluency in French and English is required.
• ITIL Foundation certification is a plus for this position.
• LANGUAGES:
• Oracle, SQL Server, Java, VB, VBA, PHP, MySQL, Access, SQL, PL/SQL, Talend, Power BI, Pentaho.
• Soft Skills:
• Beyond undeniable technical skills, the role involves communicating with
internal users.
• In addition to developing new applications, the candidate must conduct technological monitoring
to ensure the ongoing maintenance and evolution of the applications under their
responsibility.
▪ IT skills, but also collaboration with the departments within the company requesting the application, in order to
gather their requirements and guide them during software testing and acceptance.
▪ The candidate must be able to train users and participate in preliminary studies such as drafting the
specifications.
