ABOUT THE POSITION
ESS Finance Cameroon is recruiting a Head of Risk Management to oversee the institution’s overall risk management framework and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to the microfinance sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Define and implement the institution’s risk management policy.
– Develop and regularly update the risk map.
– Monitor risk indicators and ensure compliance with prudential standards.
– Identify irregularities and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
– Prepare reports for Senior Management and regulatory authorities.
– Participate in establishing internal control and compliance procedures.
– Promote risk awareness among employees.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
– Implement effective procedures for managing financial, operational, and strategic risks.
– Assess risks associated with investment projects and provide appropriate recommendations.
– Identify, measure, and monitor risks arising from the institution’s activities.
– Develop and manage prudential monitoring tools and control dashboards.
– Ensure continuous compliance with regulatory requirements and prudential ratios.
– Contribute to the preparation of annual risk management reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
– Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) in Finance, Banking, Auditing, Accounting, Management, Business Law, or an equivalent field.
– At least 3 years of experience in risk management, preferably in banking or microfinance.
– Good knowledge of OHADA regulations and COBAC requirements.
– Proficiency in financial analysis, management control, and risk management techniques.
– Good command of accounting and financial software.
– Ability to analyse financial statements and prepare management reports.
– Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
– Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.
– Leadership skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
– Experience Level: Experienced professional.
– Minimum Experience: 3 years.
– Minimum Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree.
