🧪 JOB DESCRIPTION
M’VON GENETIC is recruiting a Plant Pathology Laboratory Technician to join the research team at its IROKO Station.
The successful candidate will contribute to plant pathology research, seed quality control, and the improvement of experimental protocols as part of varietal selection programmes.
📌 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plant Pathology Testing
- Prepare culture media and multiply plant pathogens.
- Conduct inoculations and monitor experiments.
- Analyse, summarise, and communicate results to plant breeding teams.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory protocols in collaboration with NOVA GENETIC.
2. Laboratory Management
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Perform equipment calibration and metrological checks.
- Manage laboratory waste.
- Maintain the cleanliness of laboratory premises and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels and order laboratory consumables.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.
3. Seed Quality Control
- Collect seed samples.
- Conduct germination tests.
- Perform seed moisture content tests.
🎓 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFILE
Education
- Bachelor’s to Master’s degree (Bac+3 to Bac+5) in Plant Pathology.
Technical Skills
- Good command of laboratory techniques.
- Knowledge of plant biology and experimental methods.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to use the R statistical software.
- Ability to conduct scientific literature reviews in English.

- Precision and conscientiousness.

- Ability to work independently and propose improvements.
