As part of strengthening its financial and accounting teams, A LFARAH INVESTMENTS GROUP (AIG SARL) is looking for a rigorous, methodical and autonomous Senior Accountant , with a strong ability to adapt to a multicultural and multi-standard environment and with proven experience, to manage the accounting, tax monitoring and the reliability of the structure’s financial statements.
Under the direct supervision of the Group Accounting Manager / Administrative and Financial Director, he/she will be a key player in the reliability and compliance of the Group’s consolidated financial information.
Main missions
A. General and analytical accounting
• Manage and supervise the maintenance of general and analytical accounting in accordance with the Revised SYSCOHADA standard .
• Ensure the correct maintenance of journals, subsidiary accounts, general accounts and analytical accounts.
• Perform bank reconciliations and analyze accounting discrepancies.
• Monitor fixed asset and inventory accounts.
• Ensure the regular reconciliation and settlement of (third-party) accounts.
• Prepare inventory entries: provisions, prepaid expenses, accrued income, depreciation, amortization and adjustments.
B. Financial Closings and Reporting
• Carry out inventory work, account analysis and periodic accounting closings.
• Prepare the annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, general ledger, trial balance, etc.) according to the revised SYSCOHADA standards.
• Actively participate in periodic closings (monthly, quarterly and annual).
• Produce the DSF in accordance with the regulations and deadlines in force.
• Produce periodic financial reports for the General Management.
C. Taxation and Compliance
• Prepare / Supervise / establish periodic tax and social declarations (VAT, IS advance payment, IRPP, CNPS contributions, etc.) in strict compliance with legal deadlines.
• Ensure the justification of tax bases and the documentation of the corresponding files.
• Manage deductions from the Group’s subcontractors and service providers.
• Monitor applicable accounting, tax and regulatory developments.
• Prepare the necessary documents for tax and administrative audits.
• Ensure the rigorous application of the company’s accounting policies and internal procedures.
D. Treasury, payroll and management control
• Supervise cash management, bank reconciliations and monitoring of supplier payments / customer collections.
• Ensure rigorous monitoring of payroll, accounting for personnel expenses and variable payroll elements.
• Participate in cash flow forecasting and monitoring of cash inflows and outflows.
• Analyze the discrepancies between forecasts and actual results and raise the alarm in case of anomalies.
• Analyze profitability by identified cost center within the Group
E. Audit, internal control and process improvement
• Participate in the implementation and consolidation of internal accounting and financial control procedures.
• Collaborate closely with external auditors, statutory auditors and tax authorities during audits.
• Prepare working files for auditors and follow up on recommendations issued.

F. Internal Coordination
• Collaborate with the finance, operations, HR and purchasing teams involved throughout the accounting cycle.
• Ensure the quality, reliability and timeliness of data transmitted to the General Management.
• To support and raise awareness among teams regarding the application of good accounting practices.
• Supervise, train and support the team of junior accountants and/or accounting assistants
Desired profile
• Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) in Accounting/Finance/Management. Having a Baccalaureate G2 (Quantitative Management Techniques) or equivalent in accounting is an asset.
• Experience: Proven and confirmed professional experience of at least 5 years in an Accountant or Senior Accountant position, ideally in a structured and/or multi-entity environment.
• Technical skills:
o Excellent command of the revised SYSCOHADA accounting system and Cameroonian taxation.
o Proven mastery of accounting/management software (Sage Accounting, Sage Payroll) and advanced mastery of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, controls).
o Good understanding of account closing and justification mechanisms; knowledge of IFRS standards and ERP (Tom2Pro, Quickbooks…) is an asset.
o Ability to analyze financial data, detect anomalies and produce reliable summaries.
• Personal qualities: High rigor, integrity, analytical and synthesis skills, organizational skills, sense of confidentiality, autonomy and good interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and manage priorities in a demanding and multi-tasking environment.
• Languages: Fluent French; a good level of professional English is appreciated.
