In order to develop its digital presence, StarNews is recruiting a Social Media Manager.

StarNews is a Los Angeles-based media technology company whose mission is to provide financial freedom to creatives in Africa: musicians, actors, comedians, athletes, dancers, chefs, journalists and many others.
In partnership with mobile operators MTN, Orange and Moov, we have created a video streaming platform with a clever monetization mechanism.
We have created, in partnership with mobile operators MTN, Orange and Moov, a video streaming platform with a smart monetization mechanism that allows them to earn real income from the distribution of digital content. We want to stimulate the world’s already explosive passion for Africa’s music, art, fashion and other creative contributions.
The platform is growing quickly with 120 creators and 4 million users.
Here’s what awaits you:
Through a wide variety of tasks, you will support the team both in digital communication and content creation. You will implement a communication strategy on social networks.
Here’s a more concrete idea of what you should do:
- Implement the company’s communication policy and strategy on social networks, in line with the group’s strategy
- Animate digital platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Google, with a view to improving the company’s notoriety and boosting subscriptions to StarNews channels
- Produce and/or retouch video and photo montages in accordance with the graphic charter and group guidelines
- Offer relevant, innovative and creative animation with various formats (photos, videos, live streaming, etc.),
- Attend all StarNews events to create content for social networks and Lives (live);
- Produce regular reports containing monitoring of social media performance, a detailed analysis of these KPIs followed by recommendations to optimize the overall strategy and/or campaigns
- Conduct regular monitoring (social media trends, competition, new technologies)
In order to obtain this position, you will need:
- Have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position.
- Hold at least a Bac+2 degree in Marketing/Digital Communication
- Have basic knowledge of Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms)
- Master a video and photo editing tool (Canva/Photoshop/Illustrator/Premier Pro)
- Have a creative mind and excellent adaptability
- Be passionate about the news of Cameroonian and international celebrities
- Have a keen sense of organization and planning
- Being bilingual (asset)
