CANAL+ is a global media and entertainment group present in 52 countries across

The CANAL+ Group has been operating in Africa for over 30 years and is now present in
more than 20 countries, offering nearly 360 channels. Its distribution network includes over 17,000
points of sale and more than 300 partners.
Within CANAL+ Cameroon, we are looking to recruit a Subscriber Accountant to
actively contribute to the implementation of the strategy and control measures, and to
secure the cash generated by our own network.
The Subscriber Accountant reports directly to the Head Accountant of CANAL+
Cameroon.
Your role and responsibilities:
The Subscriber Accountant’s main responsibilities include:
– Daily activities:
o Monitoring the daily transfer of data from the subscriber management software to the
accounting software;
o Verifying the correct allocation of promotions and free offers to the
corresponding subscribers;
o Analysis of discrepancies per subscriber between theoretical and actual billing,
unpaid invoices, cancellations, etc.;
o Pre-configuration of new offers and promotions on a test network of the
subscriber management software;
o Manual entry and reconciliation in the accounting tool of revenue from
credit card and check payments;
o Creation of invoice commitment requests for other revenue;
o Processing of emails from the Customer Relations Department following data entry errors
(cancellations, etc.) and accounting for Miscellaneous Transactions accordingly
(revenue cancellation, distributor reimbursement, etc.);
o Communication with information systems regarding configuration and queries
Subscriber management software
– Monthly closing:
o Populating management control reporting tables for the
“other” revenue section,
o Monitoring outstanding payments for direct debit (direct
debit line) and non-direct debit
payments, o Monitoring subscriber revenue: full validation (identifying new
subscribers whose information is incomplete or incorrect and
therefore does not generate revenue), analysis of
actual vs. theoretical subscriber debt, analysis of item codes
– Quarterly closing:
o Reconciliation of the subscriber management software balances with the
accounting software (balance sheet and income statement).
And what about you?
– Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or Management;
– 3 to 5 years of experience;
– Proficiency in accounting principles;
– Good knowledge of customer management;
– Strong aptitude for working with numbers; – Good understanding of the subscription-
based product sales environment ; – Strong analytical skills; – Ability to work independently; – Initiative to continuously improve activities ; – Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
