The Port Authority of Douala (PAD) is engaged in an ambitious program to transform and modernize the Port of Douala-Bonabéri. This ambition requires strengthening operational systems and intervention capabilities to ensure fire safety and emergency response both on the water and on land, as well as throughout the entire port area.
With this in mind, the Director General of the PAD is launching a call for applications for the 2026 fiscal year to recruit nine (9) fire and rescue truck drivers. The candidates’ expertise will enable them to:
ensure the rapid and safe transport of teams and equipment to incident sites while adhering to safety regulations; manage equipment (pump, hoses, ladder, water tank) and maintain the vehicle in operational condition;
and guarantee operational vehicle maintenance by regularly checking fluid levels, brake and tire condition, and the proper functioning of emergency equipment.
to perform precision maneuvers by positioning the vehicle to protect the crew, establish a security perimeter, and ensure water supply;
to optimize travel times to guarantee the success of rescue operations; to ensure rigorous daily monitoring of fleet vehicles.
1. REQUIREMENTS
Any Cameroonian aged 45 or under who meets the following requirements may apply:
Training and Skills:
Hold at least a valid Category B and C driver’s license;
Hold a Professional Qualification Certificate (CQP) approved by the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training (MINEFOP), a certificate from the National Training Center of the National Fire Brigade, or any equivalent diploma in road driving and specialized equipment is an asset;
Proficiency in emergency driving and the operation of devices secured on special vehicles;
The minimum educational requirement is a BEPC (Brevet d’Études du Premier Cycle) or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years
of relevant professional experience in driving heavy goods vehicles (trucks, semi-
trailer trucks, special trucks);
Fluency in French or English.
Knowledge of the second language is an asset. Soft Skills:
Rigor, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility;
Excellent physical condition and visual acuity;
Calm and responsiveness
to
unforeseen events on public roads;
Strong sense of discipline and respect for hierarchy.
Adherence to procedures and work instructions;
Ability to work under pressure.
2. APPLICATION FILE:

A stamped, handwritten application addressed to the Director General of the PAD;
b- A certified copy of the birth certificate dated less than three months prior;
a certified copy of the Driver’s License issued by the competent services of the Ministry of Transport;
certified copies of required diplomas and certifications/attestations;
a copy of the National Identity Card; a criminal record extract (Bulletin No. 3) dated less than three months prior;
a curriculum vitae dated and signed by the candidate;
h- Copies of work certificates or any documents that may justify previous service.

3. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:
Complete applications addressed to the Director General of the PAD, BP 4020 – Douala, must be submitted to the Secretariat of the Deputy Director of Human Resources, located on the 3rd floor of the PAD Douala BONANJO headquarters building, office 302.
The deadline for submitting applications is April 16, 2026.
4. CANDIDATE SELECTION PROCESS:
Candidates who have submitted complete applications will be selected following an evaluation through theoretical, practical, and psychometric tests by a working group established by the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Douala. /-
