The International Insurance Institute (IIA) in Yaoundé is launching a call for applications for the recruitment of an Accounting and Budget Assistant (Bac +2/3 level).
JOB TITLE AND DESCRIPTION: ACCOUNTING
AND BUDGET ASSISTANT
. Reporting to the Head of the Accounting and Budget Department, the Accounting and Budget Assistant must have the following profile:
CANDIDATE PROFILE.
Candidates for this position must:
– Be capable of fulfilling the duties of the position;
Hold a Bac +2/3 in accounting, auditing, finance, management, or economics;
Have good oral and written communication skills in French;
Be able to work under pressure;
Be rigorous and of good moral character;
Have a thorough knowledge of accounting and budgetary principles (SYSCOHADA NPO standards and others);
Have proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook…); Have a solid understanding of financial analysis, treasury management, and accounting and budgetary reporting;
Have
a good grasp of the expenditure procedures of international organizations;
Have at least five (05) years of professional experience;
– A specialization in finance or budget management is an asset; Be no more than 35 years old on the date the application is accepted by the IIA.

MISSIONS OR PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Under the supervision of the Head of the Accounting and Budget Department, the new recruit’s essential mission will include, among other things:
Contributing to the preparation of the preliminary draft of the annual budget;
Assisting the CSCB in monitoring budget execution (commitments, liquidations, payment orders);
Helping to update budget dashboards and producing periodic execution reports;
Contribute to the analysis of discrepancies between forecasts and actual results.
Record and file cash receipts and other petty cash transactions in the computerized system;
Prepare payments to partners, advances, and staff salaries;
Make all cash payments and manage petty cash funds;
Participate in maintaining accounting records and preparing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, administrative account, etc.);
Support the collection of budget revenues in accordance with financial regulations;
Prepare and monitor bank reconciliations and supporting accounting documents;
Ensure the proper filing, storage, and archiving of financial and accounting documents.
Assist in the preparation of documents and reports required for the financial controller, the auditor, and the administrative and financial audit committee;
Contribute to ensuring compliance with internal procedures and national tax regulations;
Participate in improving financial management and reporting tools;
Any other tasks assigned by the General Management.

Professional references or work certificates;
A certified copy of the birth certificate issued within the last three (3) months;
A medical certificate issued within the last three (3) months by a physician in the public health sector;
An extract from criminal record certificate No. 3 issued within the last three (3) months; Certified copies of all diplomas obtained since the baccalaureate.


REMUNERATION AND CLASSIFICATION
Category VIII Agent, Step A of the IIA salary scale
RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES
The recruitment process is as follows:
A pre-selection phase of eligible applications;
A selection phase of shortlisted candidates (Test, interview); Approval of the selection result by the competent authorities;
Notification to the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will be appointed for an initial period of two (2) years with a probationary period of three (3) months, renewable once.

The deadline for submitting applications is February 16, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at the headquarters of the International Insurance Institute located in the MFANDENA district, known as “Titi Garage,” P.O. Box 1575, Yaoundé.
Knowledge of diplomatic and consular procedures would be an asset.
